What does the environment mean to me?
‘We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers; we have borrowed it from our children.’
I remember reading this quote every week. It was a poster, on the wall in my geography classroom. It really dug deep!
It made me realise that everything I do will have a consequence on the future. It will have an effect on someone’s life.
When we began planning our journey for Mr A’s, being environmentally friendly was at the forefront of every idea.
We tried our absolute best to keep all products as environmentally friendly as possible.
Our packaging is completely recyclable, our sachets are compostable and our spoons are made from plant starch.
Whilst we were cooking we actually took it a step further and decided to purchase pans that were Teflon free. At the time we were watching a movie called ‘Dark Waters’. A movie I would highly recommend.
The movie is set in America near a factory that produces products coated in a new chemical giving them amazing properties. The story line involves a lawyer who starts an investigation on the decline in health of animals. Only to find that large amounts of the newly discovered chemical is finding its way into the water works that irrigate the land used to graze by the animals. The chemical is called Teflon.
It’s heart-breaking to see how these invisible chemicals can have an effect on animals and humans.
Being environmentally friendly is a very important part of our business. We feel it’s very important to leave behind a healthier and happier world.
A world in which we can create a positive change.
